Butterfly Tutorial
Open a canvas size 500x500, transparent.
Click on flood fill. Change your fill
color to black. Click on Selections and choose left wing.sel.
Flood fill the wing with black color. Deselect.
Add a new raster layer. Click on flood fill. Click on Selections
and choose forewing.sel. Flood fill the selections with #DFA529
color. Deselect.
Make the inner wing a floating selection by clicking on Tool
Options/Selection/rectangle. Click on Effects/3D effects/Cutout
Settings are Offsets vertical and horizontal = 1, Attributes are
Opacity = 72 and Blur = 27.5 and Deselect.
Add a new raster layer. Click on Selections and choose veins.sel.
Flood fill it with black. Deselect.
Add a new layer. Click on Selections and choose wingtip.sel.
Flood fill it with #F7BF0D and deselect.
Add a new layer. Click on Selections and choose hindwing.sel.
Flood fill it with black. Deselect.
Add a new layer. Selections/forewing1.sel. Flood fill with
#F7BF0D. Deselect. Selections/forewing2.sel. Flood fill it with
black, once. Deselect.
Add a new layer. Selections/veins1.sel and flood Fill with
black. Deselect.
Add a new layer. Selections/wingtip2.sel and flood fill it with
#F7BF0D. Deselect.
Merge all the layers visible. Copy and paste it as a new layer.
Mirror image it and place the copy to the right side.
Add a new layer, Selections, body.sel. Flood fill it with black.
Selections/bodystripes.sel. Flood fill with #F6BE0D and
deselect.
Add a new layer, Selections, eyes.sel. Flood fill with black.
Deselect. Make it a floating selection. Effect/3D effects/Inner
bevel. Settings below.

Add a new layer, Selections, antennae.sel. Flood fill with
black. Deselect. Merge all the layers visible and you're done.
