This is my very first tutorial, I hope it will
turn out fine for you as it was for me. In this tutorial, you will need
PSP7, EYE CANDY 3.0 OR 4000.
STEP 1.
Open up a canvas 400x400 (transparent) or you can create it in any light
color filled background you want. Then set up your
foreground/background color to #CB0D7D. Click on preset shape tool and
choose rectangle. Draw a shape on the canvas 150x200 roughly Drag your
shape close to the bottom of the canvas so you'll have a space to work
on and a space for the wick and light.
STEP 2.
Go back to preshape tool and choose ellipse and draw a shape to the
bottom of the rectangle to make the bottom look rounded. Then go to
layer and merge them 2 layers visible.
Add a layer and Click on your tool option selections and set it to
rectangle. Draw a rectangle on the left side of the image then on the
right side and apply an airbrush. Settings for air brush are as follows:
shape - round
size 38
hardness 1
opacity 22
step 1
density 11
Deselect and go to effects and blur, choose average blur and set it to
31. Click ok.
STEP 3.
Click on the preshape tool and choose ellipse, set the foreground to
#CB0D7D and the fill color to #FFFFFF, draw an elipse on top of the
candle to make it look rounded. You might want to use your deform tool
to shape it just right. convert it to raster layer.
Add another layer for the picture or clipart. I used the image I have on
the picture tube. Apply it to your candle. Click back on the ellipse you
just drew and lets do some smudging. Smudge settings bellow.
shape =round
brush size = 8
hardness= 20
opacity= 60
step= 1
density= 100
Carefully redistribute the pink to the middle of the ellipse just
leaving a little rough ellipse white shape on the middle and on the
bottom center of the ellipse make a smudge downward to make it look like
a candle grease.
STEP 4.
Now lets make a wick. preset tool, rounded rectangle, set your styles
and fill colors to black and draw a rounded rectangle on top of the
ellipse, convert to raster layer. Choose effect and blur/blur. to make a
fire, set your styles and foreground color to #DB9B11, yellow orange
color, and draw an ellipse on top of the wick touching the ellipse on
the candle, node it and then blur it "average" sets to 27. You might
want to draw another ellipse and node it but smaller than the first one,
then blur it to 15-20. that's it!! You now have a decorated candle.
