PLAIN CANDLE
TUTORIAL

STEP 1.
Open up a canvas size 300x400. Click on preset shape tool and choose rectangle,
set your color to any color you want. I set mine to #F0CF9B. Draw a rectangle
on the center of the canvas size 100x200. Convert to raster. Click on the
node tool and add 3 nodes, 1 on the left bottom side, 1 on the right bottom
side and 1 on the center bottom of the rectangle. Change the 3 bottom nodes
to symmetric and slightly pull the bottom node down. See image below
STEP 2.
Click on flood fill bucket, on the color palette, choose the first style
on the settings and set the angle to 270. Click on edit, and edit the colors.
See 2nd image below. Click ok. Grab the magic wand and select anywhere inside
the rectangle and flood fill it with your gradient color. Deselect.
STEP 3.
Click on preset shape tool and choose ellipse, size 7 set your fill color to
white and leave the stroke color to gradient. Draw an ellipse on top of the
rectangle, convert to raster. Carefully smudge leaving a rough ellipse white
image on the middle, and from the center of the ellipse, do a downward smudge
to make it look like a candle grease. see 2nd image image below.
STEP 4.
Now lets make a wick. preset tool, rounded rectangle, set your styles and
fill colors to black and draw a rounded rectangle on top of the ellipse.
convert to raster layer. choose effect and blur/blur. to make a fire, set
your styles and foreground color to #DB9B11, egg yolk color, and draw an
ellipse top of the wick touching the ellipse on the candle node it and then
blur it "average" set to 27. You might want to draw another
ellipse and node
it but smaller than the first one, then blur it to 15-20. that's it!! You
have a simple non-deco candle. You can decorate it in anyway you want.
FINISHED IMAGE
I added a marble effect using
eye candy 3.0 and then I added the pastel color using virtual paint on this
one.
Thank for choosing this tutorial. I hope you enjoy it.
