This tutorial is written for PSP7. Get the free 30 day trial at http://www.jasc.com.

You will need some printed fabrics or tiles to do this tutorial. You can use my tiles or you can use your own. Click here for the zip file. Download the zip file in your computer and extract it to your folder.

Open up a canvas size 400x500. Click on preset shape tool and choose rectangle. Set the foreground color to black and background color to red. Draw a rectangle on the center of the canvas. Click the nodes button. Change the 2 top nodes to symmetric. Then squeeze the arrows for about half an inch length, pull the left node outward and do the same thing with the right node. Click back to the preset shape tool and draw another rectangle halfway below the first rectangle. Add nodes to the left side, right side and bottom side of the rectangle and change all the nodes to symmetric except the node on the top left. Node the rectangle as shown below. Convert the layer to raster layer.

Click on the selection tool and make sure that it set to rectangle, draw a rectangle on the top of the 2nd rectangle and cut the where it is selected. Image below.

Deselect. Merge all the layers visible. Make the image selected. Click on Effects/3D Effects/Cut Out and apply cutout to the image. Settings are: OFFSETS 1, OPACITY 72, BLUR 12.5, fill interior with color unchecked, shadow color black. Click OK. Deselect.

Now we are going to use this image as a pattern . Divide the sock by sections and number it according to its corresponding fills. Click on the magic wand, set it to point to point, feather to zero, antialias checked. See the image below. Chop the image and fill up each section with a printed tile by numbers. Each time you fill up a section, cut and paste that piece as a new layer. Place it back to its position, make it selected and apply cut out to it. OK start chopping.

When you get done chopping and filling up the sections, remove the pattern and merge all the layers. Add the stitches by drawing a zigzag  lines, use the draw tool, freehand, size 1, color black. Merge all the layers after you get done putting all the stitches. Make the image selected and apply cutout and you're finished. Save it as a tube file or psp file.

Thank you for choosing this tutorial. I hope you enjoyed it.
