Airbrushed Apple

 

You will need PSP8 to do this tutorial.

Open a canvas 500x500 transparent.

Click on preset shape, ellipse. Change the bg/fg colors to #A80813. Draw an ellipse on the center of the canvas any size you want.

Click on pen tool. Move the nodes as shown below.

Convert to raster layer.

Make the apple selected. Add a new raster layer. Click on airbrush tool, settings below. FG and stroke properties to #000000.
 

Apply airbrush as shown below. Click ADJUST/ BLUR/ GAUSSIAN BLUR, size 10. OK

Add new raster layer. Change the fg/stroke properties to #F8BC1C. Click on airbrush tool and apply airbrush on the center top of the apple. Apply blur.

Merge all the layers visible.

To put a highlight on the apple.
New raster layer. Click on airbrush tool. Change airbrush size to 80 Change fg/stroke properties to #FFFFFF. Apply airbrush as shown below.

Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian blur, use the same settings. Merge all the layers visible. Keep the image selected.

Click on ADJUST/ADD-REMOVE NOISE/ADD NOISE. Use the settings below.

EFFECTS/ 3D EFFECTS/ CUTOUT. Use the settings below. Deselect.


Adding stem and leaves.

Click on preset shape. Change the fg/bg colors to #454C16. Draw a rectangle on top of the apple and move the nodes as shown below. Convert to raster layer.

 

Make the stem selected. Click on airbrush tool and change the fg/ stroke properties to #309117. Apply airbrush as shown below.

Apply blur size 3. Merge down. Deselect. Add leaf from your tube and you're done.
