Rustic Snowman in PSP8

You will need PSP 8 software.  Get a free trial from Jasc.com

Download the scarf zip file here and extract it to your PSP8 selection file.

Open a canvas size 700x700 transparent. You can make it smaller if you wish. I always make my images bigger. It's a habit I guess. :)

Click on preset shape, anti-alias checked, width 1. Foreground/ background colors to #FFF8EF . Draw an ellipse on the center of the canvas.

Add nodes on each lower sides of the ellipse and move the nodes as shown on figure 2.

Convert to raster layer. Make the layer selected. Effects/ 3D effects/ Cutout. Settings below. Deselect.

Preset shape. Draw a big ellipse just below small ellipse. Add nodes on each
lower sides of the ellipse and move the nodes as shown on figure 3 and 4.

Convert to raster layer. Make it selected and apply cutout. Deselect.

Lets put a hat on the head. Draw an ellipse. Convert to raster layer. Move the layer to the bottom.

Draw another ellipse. Change the bottom center node to Symmetric and move the nodes as shown below. Convert to raster layer.

Draw a hooded rectangle on top of the head. Move the nodes if necessary. Convert to raster layer. see figure 7 below.

Draw an ellipse for an eye. Convert to raster layer. Copy and paste it as a new layer. Move eyes close to each other. Merge down.

Change the fg/bg colors to #F29322. Draw an ellipse for a nose. Add nodes and move the nodes as shown below.

Convert to raster layer. Make it selected. Apply Gaussian blur. OPACITY 60, BLUR 13.

Add new raster layer. Click on airbrush tool, settings below. Change the foreground and stroke properties to #D79BA8. Apply airbrush on the cheeks. Blur/ Gaussian blur/ size 10.

To add a scarf. Click on selections. Load the scarf1 selection. New raster layer. Flood fill it with any color or printed fabric. Selections/ load the scarf2 selection. New raster layer. Flood fill. Selections/ load the scarf3 selection. New raster layer. Flood fill. Deselect.

Add twigs for arms and hand.Add buttons and star for decorations.

Draw 3 ellipses. Add button holes. Draw a star. Apply drop shadows. Merge all the layers visible. Save it as a tube or a PSP file.
