Weathered Clay Pot Tutorial
Software - PSP8 Download the rusty tin pattern and
save it to your pattern folder.
Open a 500 x 500 canvas transparent. Change the FS and
Fill properties to
rusty tin. Click on preset shape and
choose pentagon. Draw a pentagon on the center of the
canvas. Pull the nodes down and edit it to symmetric.
Pull the node arrow slightly out.

Add node on the bottom of the image. Edit the node to
symmetric. Pull the node arrow slightly out. Your image
should look similar to the image below.

Convert to raster layer. Double click the layer and name
it pot1. Click on preset shape and choose
and choose rounded rectangle. Draw a rounded rectangle
on top of the image.
Press and hold the control key. Right
click and hold the mouse key and slightly push the image
inward. See image below.

Click on the right inner node and edit it to merge.
Click on the left inner node and edit it to merge. Add
node on the center of the image. Slightly pull the image
down. Edit the node to symmetric. Then slightly pull the
node arrow out to give it a circular shape.
Convert to raster layer. Double click the layer on the
layer palette and name it pot 2. Click on
preset shape and choose ellipse. Draw an ellipse on top
of the image. Click on layers/ arrange/ and move the
layer down. Convert to raster layer.
Double click the layer on the layer
palette and name it pot 3. Click the
layer pot 1 and make it selected. Add a new raster
layer. Click on airbrush tool. Settings below.

Airbrush the image as shown below. Run airbrush one more
time on the top part of the image. Click ADJUST/BLUR/
GAUSSIAN BLUR 12. OK. Deselect.

Right click raster 2 from the layer palette and merge
the layer down. Click pot 2 from the
layer palette. Draw a rectangular selection and make the
the layer pot 2 selected. Add a new raster layer.
Airbrush size 30. Apply airbrush as shown below.

Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur 4. Deselect. Right click on
raster layer 2 and merge it down. Click
the layer pot 3 and make it selected. Click on burn
brush. Settings below. Slightly brush the center
of the ellipse. Keep it selected.

Click the Lighten/Darken brush. Settings below. Slightly
brush the top part edge of the ellipse to give it a
highlight look. Keep it selected.

Click on Effects/3D effects/ Cutout. Settings below.
Apply cutout. Deselect.

Make the layer pot 2 selected. Click on lighten/darken
brush. Apply highlights on the image. See image below.
Keep it selected.

Click Effects/3D Effects/ Inner Bevel. Settings below.
Click OK. Deselect.

Make the pot 1 selected. Lighten/ Darken Brush. Adjust
the opacity to 75. Apply highlight on the image as shown
below. Keep it selected.

Click on Effects/ 3D effects/ Cutout. Apply cutout. OK.
Deselect Click on the pen tool/ freehand.
FS properties to black and no fill. Line style/ default/
size 1. Free hand draw a crack as shown on surface of
the image. Apply drop shadow. Settings below. Merge the
layers visible.

Click on Effects/ Texture Effects/ choose small stone.
See settings below.

Click on Adjust/ Brightness and Contrast/ Clarify. OK.
You're done. Save it as a tube or a PSP file. |
