Angel Tutorial
 

  Open a canvas 600x600 transparent. Pen tool/ freehand/ size 1/ tracking 9/ connect segments-unchecked/ foreground color black/ background color white. Freehand draw the wing. Edit nodes and convert to raster layer. Name this image "wing1
 
Draw the other wing and edit the nodes. Convert to raster layer and name it "wing2".  

 

  Freehand draw a rectangle, edit the nodes and convert to raster layer. Name this image "neck".
 
Tips: To freehand draw a large object, draw the object piece by piece and then when you edit the nodes, join those pieces together by putting the end node of one piece on top of either the end node or the start node of another piece.

When you click  the node, it will show start or end.  You can join the end to end nodes or start to start nodes by putting one OVER the other node when "JOIN" shows up.  Examples below.

 
 
Pen tool/ freehand. Change the change the background color to #98cdda. Freehand draw the dress. Edit the nodes and convert to raster layer. Name this layer "dress".

 The images below are my examples on how I drew the dress piece by piece then edited the nodes by moving them to form a shape and connected the broken contours to form one image.

  Pen tool/ freehand. Change the background color to #f492b9Freehand draw the image, edit the nodes to reshape. Convert to raster layer and name the image "collar".
 
Pen tool/ freehand. Change the background color to #f4bfbc. Freehand draw the image, edit the nodes and convert to raster layer. Name this layer "face".  

 

  Pen tool/ freehand. Change the background to a hair pattern. I got the hair pattern from http://www.donnaboykin.com/freebies/free.html or use your own pattern. Edit nodes and convert to raster layer. Make the hair selected. Smudge the hair anyway you want. Deselect. Name your image "hair".
   
Go to the layer palette and click on layer "dress". Pen tool/ Freehand. Change the background color to #d4ebf0. Freehand draw the ellipse. Edit the nodes and convert to raster layer. Name it "sleeve1".  

 

  Pen tool/ Freehand. Freehand draw the other sleeve. Edit the nodes and convert to raster layer. Name it "sleeve2".
 
Go to layer palette and highlight the face. Pen tool size 2/ foreground color black/ no background. Freehand draw the eyebrows. Edit nodes and convert to raster layer.

Preset shape/ foreground/ background color black/ retain style unchecked/ create as a vector and anti-alias checked. Draw an ellipse for the left eye, edit the nodes, convert to raster layer. Draw an ellipse for the right eye, edit the nodes, convert to raster layer.

 

 

  Pen tool/ freehand. Change the foreground color to #6c441c and no background. Freehand draw the nose. Edit the nodes and convert to raster layer.
