
Painting Purple Iris in PSP9 using Smudge option.
First, I freehand drawn an outline of the flower. Using pen tool/draw
freehand. Download the outline
here.
Open up the outline in your PSP9.
Make the bottom left petal selected. Click the Selections/modify/expand by
4. Flood fill with color #412464. Do not
DESELECT.
Add a new raster layer. Click petal as shown below. See Figure 1

On the tool options click on smudge.
Settings are
presets=default
shape=round
size=28
hardness=100
step=5
density=100
thickness=100
rotation=0
opacity=50
Smudge the airbrush using an outward strokes, then inward strokes. You may
repeat the process until you get the desired
result. See figure 2.


Now do the other petals using the same settings and strokes, always expand
the selections to 4 and don't forget to merge sing the same settings and strokes, always expand
the selections to 4 and don't forget to merge
all the layers visible after you get done on each petals and stems. Use the
finished image as a guide. The rest is all in your
imagination. |
