Let's do the hat. Change the foreground color to black and background color to #980015. Pen tool, freehand. Draw the shape as shown on screen shot 10. Edit the nodes and convert to raster layer.
Name this image "hat1".Draw the round image on Santa's hat. (You may draw an ellipse or freehand draw it.) Convert to raster layer. Move the layer down. Name this image "hat2"		    
 
  Let's work on Santa's hat some more. Change the foreground color to black and background to white. Draw a rectangle on Santa's hat as shown on screen shot 11. Edit the nodes and convert to raster layer. Name this image "hat3"  
 
    This is what we have so far. Let's add some shades to the image.  
 
  Go to the layer palette and highlight beard. Make the beard selected. Add a new raster layer. Clickon Airbrush tool color #808080/ size 7 hardness 59/ step 10/ density 26/ thickness 100/ rotation 0/ opacity 100/ blend mode normal. Airbrush the image as shown on screen shot 13. Click on Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur 12. Click OK.    
 
    Change the foreground color to white. No background color. Pen tool/ freehan size 6 . Draw lines as shown on screen shot 14. Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur 3. OK Deselect.  
 
Layer palette and highlight the layer "mustache". Make it selected. Modify expand . Click the paint brush, and paint brush it with white. Add a new raster layer. Airbrush tool. Use the same settings just change the color to #c0c0c0. Airbrush the mustache as shown on screen shot 15. Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian blur 4. Go to the layer palette and merge the layer down.  

 
 
    Make the mustache selected. Click on Effects/ 3D effects/ Cutout/ vertical 2/ horizontal 1/ opacity 26/ blur 5. Click OK. Click on Dodge Brush/ size 6/ hardness 50/ step 25/ density 100/ thickness 100/ rotation 0/ opacity 50. Highlight the mustache as shown on the screen shot 16. This shows more whites. Click on Soften Brush. size 20/ hardness 70/ step 25/ density 100/ opacity 100. Brush through the edges to soften the jagged edges.  
 
    Layer palette and hightlight the layer "face". Make the face selected. Add a new raster layer. Airbrush tool/ color #933203/ size 10/ hardness 20/ step 10/ density 25/ thickness 100/ rotation 0/ opacity 100. Airbrush the face as shown on screen shot 17. Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur 8. OK Deselect. Merge the layer down. Click on Soften Brush/ size 20/ hardness 70/ step 25/ density 100/ opacity 100. Brush through the edges to soften the jagged edges.  
 
  Make the face selected. Pen tool size 2/ background color #693823/ background color #933203. Draw Santa's eyelid. Go to the layer palette and adjust the opacity to 25. Convert to raster layer. See screen shot 18.  

 
 
    Change the foreground color to #f49cd0. Airbrush tool size 30. Add a raster layer and airbrush the cheeks. See screen shot 19. Adjust/ Blur Gaussian Blur 16. OK  
 
  Layer palette and highlight the eyes2. Paint brush tool/ color white/ size 2. Dot a white spot on Santa's eyes.  
   
  Layer palette and highlight the nose. Airbrush size 6/ color #f49cd0. Add a new raster layer. Airbrush the tip of the nose. Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur 7. OK Deselect. Click on soften brush and soften the lines.  
 
  Layer palette and highlight the eyes1 and soften the lines. Do the same thing on eyes2. Make sure to adjust the size of the brush to soften just the edges.  
 
  Layer palette and highlight the eyebrows. Airbrush size 6/ color #c0c0c0. Airbrush the edges. Adjust/ Blue Gaussian Blur 2. Lighten darken brush size 4. Lighten the center of the eyebrows. Deselect. See the creen shot below.
