Snowman Tutorial

 
 

This tutorial is written for PSP9 but can be tried on earlier or later versions.

 
 
  Open a canvas 600x600. Pen tool/ freehand/ size 1/ tracking 9/ connect segments-unchecked/ create as a vector-checked. Freehand draw an ellipse and edit the nodes to shape it. Convert to raster layer. Go to the layer palette and name it "right arm".  

 

 

 

  Click on preset shape tool and choose ellipse. Draw an ellipse as shown on screen shot on the left. Edit the nodes to reshape. Convert to raster layer. Name the layer as " body1".
Click on Pen tool/ size 1/ foreground color black/ background color white. Freehand draw an image as shown on screen shot on the right. Edit the nodes to reshape. Convert to raster layer and name it "body2".  

  Pen tool/ same settings. Freehand draw an ellipse as shown on screen shot . Edit the nodes to reshape. Convert to raster layer and name it "head".
Preset shape/ ellipse width 2/ foreground color black and background color #7d7d7d. Draw an ellipse as shown on screen shot. Edit the nodes. Layer palette/ right click on the layer and move the layer down. Convert to raster layer and name it hat1.  

  Preset shape/ ellipse width 2/ foreground and background color to black . Draw an ellipse as shown on screen shot. Edit the nodes. Layer palette/ right click on the layer and move the layer down. Convert to raster layer and name it hat2.
Preset shape/ ellipse/ foreground/ background color to #b7b7b7. Draw an ellipse as shown on screen shot . Convert to raster layer and name it "hat-band".  

  Pen tool/ size 1/ foreground color to black/ background color to #54880a. Draw the holly and edit the nodes. Convert to raster layer and name it "holly".
Preset shape/ ellipse/ foreground color black/ background color white. Draw an ellipse/ edit the nodes. Convert to raster layer and name it "left-arm".  

  Go to the layer palette and highlight the head. Add a new raster layer. Open a pattern image or use what you have on your pattern file for the scarf. Pen tool/ freehand/ tracking 9/ width 1. Foreground color to black and background is any pattern you choose for the scarf. Freehand draw the image/ edit the nodes/ convert to raster layer and name it "scarf1".
