Christmas Train Tutorial

Let's create a Christmas Train using Basic Preset Shapes, rectangles, triangle and ellipse.

Note: I have captured screen shots as much as I can for reference to the tutorial. This tutorial consist of editing nodes. You must have a good understanding of Nodes. To help you with nodes visit this link.

Open a canvas 500x500, transparent. Foreground color to black and fill to gray. Preset shape/
rectangle size 1.

Preset shape ellipse/ width 5/ foreground color black/ fill color your choice. Draw an ellipse on the right bottom corner of the canvas. Convert to raster layer. Change the line width to 2. Draw a small ellipse on the center. Convert to raster layer. Merge the layer down. Copy and paste as a new layer and place it on the left side.

This set of wheels will be on the left bottom corner of the canvas.

Change the fill color of your choice. Preset shape/ rectangle draw a rectangle, add 2 nodes on top of the image as shown on the screen shot.

Change the 3rd node on the right to symmetric. Edit the nodes as shown on the screen shot. Convert to raster layer.

Change the fill color to #ffffff. Draw a rectangle. Go to the layer palette and move the layer down. Add 4 nodes.

Change the 2 nodes on the center to Symmetric. Edit the nodes to make it look like a candy cane. Convert to raster layer.

Pen tool/ change the foreground color to #ff0000/ size 4. Draw lines on the candy cane. Convert to raster layer.

Change the foreground color to black and fill color to the color of your choice. (#a80e20). Draw a rectangle. Add 2 nodes on the right bottom side of the image.

Edit the nodes. Convert to raster layer. See the screen shot.

Change the fill color to color of your choice. Draw a rectangle above the red rectangle. Push the top
right node slightly in. Convert to raster layer.

Change the fill color to the color of your choice (#0000ff.) Draw 2 ellipses. Convert to raster layer. See screen shot.

Change the fill color to the color of your choice (#ffff00). Draw a rectangle. Add node to the top center of the rectangle.

Change the node to symmetric. Edit the node to to form a round look and convert to raster layer.

Change the fill color to color of your choice (#00ff00). Draw a rectangle. Add a node to the center top.

Edit the node to form a round look and convert to raster layer.

Change the fill color to color of your choice (#ff00ff). Draw a rectangle. Convert to raster layer. Use the deformation tool and pull the bottom right node out. Convert to raster layer.

Change the fill color to color of your choice (#8080ff). Preset shape/ triangle. Draw an upside down triangle. Edit the bottom node to symmetric to form a curve. Convert to raster layer.

Preset shape/ Ellipse. Draw an ellipse on the center of the triangle. Convert to raster layer. Change the fill color to any color you desire. Draw a smaller ellipse on the center of the first ellipse. Go to the layer palette and merge the layer down.

Change the fill color of your choice. (#db7305). Preset shape/ rectangle. Draw a rectangle. Add node on the left center side of the image. Edit the node and convert to raster layer.

Change the fill color of your choice. (#9f59bb). Preset shape/ rectangle. Draw a rectangle. Change the fill color to any color. Draw a rectangle right beside it. Convert to raster layer.

Change the fill color of your choice. (#bbfa5e). Draw a rectangle right next to the 2 rectangles.
Change the left bottom node to symmetric. Push the node to the center. Edit the node and convert to raster layer
