Easy Screws Tutorial
I have a preset saved just for this tutorial.
Download them here. Unzip them to your Preset
folder. It should show on your Balls and Bubbles Presets drop down.

| Open a canvas 100x100,
transparent. Effects/ Artistic Effects/ Balls and Bubbles. To get
the result I want is on playing with the surface material and
maps. I've always use the 2 settings below. I leave the illumination
alone. |

Now, to make the a slot
screw head. Use the straight line. Pen tool/ point to point/ size 8/
connect
segments checked/ create on vector checked. Place a point to point
straight line across the image.
Convert to raster layer. Effects/ 3D effects/ Drop Shadow. Settings:
Offset: Vertical 1/ Horizontal 1/.
Attributes: Opacity 52/ Blur 1/ color white. OK |

To make a Phillips screw
head. Click on Text Tool, then press the + sign. Text color black/
size 48
points/ bold. Click apply. Apply drop shadow. Merge the layers
visible. |

To make a square
screw head. Preset shape/ choose the diamond1207041 from the
drop down list.
Convert to raster layer and apply drop shadow. Merge the
layers visible. |

To make a Phillips
square combo screw head. Text Tool/ then + sign. OK Convert
to raster layer.
Then Preset shape tool/ diamond1207041. Convert to raster
layer. Go to the layer palette and merge
the layer down. Apply drop shadow. Merge the layers visible |

To make a Phillips
hex head. Preset shape/ hexagon. Place a hexagon on the
canvas. Convert to
raster layer. Add new raster layer. Click on Effects/
Artistic Effects/ Balls and Bubbles/ choose any
preset you want. I chose rust. OK. Go to the layer palette
and highlight the hexagon layer. Make
the hexagon layer selected. Selections/ Invert. Click the
bubble layer and hit delete. Apply inner
bevel on the hexagon. Inner bevel Settings: Bevel type #2/
Width 4/ Smoothness 20/ Depth 4/ ambience 0 shininess 0/
Angle 315/ Intensity 30/ Elevation 50. Click OK. Click on
Selection tool/ circle. Draw a circle on the center of the
hexagon. Click on Effects/ 3D effects/ inner bevel. Settings
below. Click OK. Deselect.
Text Tool/ then + sign/ 48 points and click apply. Preset
shape and choose diamond 1207041.
Convert to raster layer. Go to the layer palette and apply
drop shadow. Merge the layers visible.
Save your images as a tube or psp file. |
