How to paint Apples.

 

How to paint a vector apple in PSPX using airbrush and smudge brush. We will be doing a lot of editing nodes.  Check this link to help you better understand about NODES. http://www.sketchpad.net/drawing1.htm

Open a canvas 500x500, transparent. Foreground color #662416 and fill color #a52d27. Preset shape/ Ellipse. Draw an ellipse on the canvas. Right click and hold the rotation handle counter clockwise.  

  Click on the pen tool and make sure that the edit mode arrow on the tool bar is highlighted. Press the CTRL key down and point your mouse to the image where the node are to be added. Add 2 nodes on the upper sides and 4 nodes on the bottom.
 

  Edit the nodes, by dragging each node to reshape the image. Convert to raster layer.
  Use the Selection tool/ rectangle to make the image selected. Click on Airbrush tool/ #662416.

Settings: Size 32/ Hardness 50/ Step 25/ Density 25/ Thickness 100/ Rotation 0/ Opacity 100. Add a new raster layer. Airbrush the image as shown on the screen shot.
  Click on Smudge Brush/ Size 50/ Hardness 10/ Density 100/ Thickness 100/ Rotation 0/ Opacity 60.
Smudge the airbrushed image to blend the color. Add more airbrush if necessary. Play around with it until you achieve the desired look.
  Add a new raster layer. Airbrush/ #cc383b. Airbrush the left upper side.
  Smudge Brush. Smudge the image.
  Add a new raster layer. Airbrush #da6868. Airbrush on the same place.

  Smudge Brush. Smudge the image. Your apple should look similar to the screen shot.
  Merge all the layers visible. Adjust/ Add Remove Noise/ Add Noise/ Gaussian 5/ Monochrome checked. OK Deselect .
  Open a canvas 500x500, transparent. Foreground color #662416 and fill color #a52d27. Preset shape/ Ellipse. Draw an ellipse next to the apple. Add 2 nodes on the left upper side and one node on the right upper side. Add 2 nodes on the bottom.
   
  Edit the nodes to reshape the image. Convert to raster layer.
 
  Make the image selected. Airbrush #662416. Same settings. Add a new raster layer. Airbrush the image as shown on the screen shot.
   
  Smudge brush. Change the size to 32. Smudge the image to blend colors. Add more airbrush if
needed.
