Scissor Tutorial with selections

 
Written for PSPX.    Download the selections and extract to your selection file.
 
Open a canvas 800x264. Selections/ load selections from disk/ locate the scissor1. Add a raster layer and flood fill with silver gradient, 134 angle.

Load the scissor2. Add a raster layer and flood fill with silver gradient, 180 angle.

Selection tool/ Freehand. Make a selection as shown on the screen shot.



Adjust>Add/Remove Noise>Add noise. Uniform/ Noise 30%/ Monochrome checked.

Adjust/ Brightness and Contrast. Brightness -50/ Contrast 0.

Load the scissor-handle1. Add a raster layer and flood fill with any color you want. Effect/ 3D effect/ Inner Bevel. Settings below. (Note if you have a SuperBldepro, use the plain.9q9 preset.)



Load the scissor-handle2. Add a raster layer and flood fill with the same color. Apply inner bevel.

Load the ellipse-selection. Add a raster layer and flood fill with silver gradient. Apply inner bevel. Settings below.



Deselect. Effects>3D Effect>Drop shadow. Setting: Vertical 0>Horizonal -2>Opacity 100>Blur 2>Color #000000.

Pen tool/ size 2/ Point to Point/ color #000000. Draw a diagonal line across the ellipse. Convert to raster layer. Add drop shadow, change the Vertical line to 1 and color to #ffffff.

Merge all the layers visible and save your image.
