Stylish Wicker Bag Tutorial

 
 
You will need a PSP program which you can get a free trial from corel.com.  You also need a wicker pattern,  if you don't have it, go to my Wicker Basket Tutorial.  Save the pattern to your PSP pattern file. 
Open a canvas size 500x 500 transparent. Foreground/ wicker pattern/ 45 degrees angle/ scale 50. Flood fill with the wicker pattern.
Effects/ Geometric Effects/ Pentagon/ Transparent checked.  

 

  Image/ Resize to 400x400. Open a canvas 500x500. Cut and paste the image to the newly opened canvas. Close the empty canvas.

Selection tool/ rectangle. Select the top part (triangle).

 
Cut and paste as a new layer.

Click on Image/ Flip. Selection tool Make a rectangle selection on the triangle. Adjust/ Brightness and Contrast. Brightness -15. OK. DESELECT

 

 

  Make another selection on the triangle. Adjust Brightness and Contrast. Brightness 15. OK DESELECT
   
Pen tool/ Point to Point/ size 15. Draw a point to point line above the image. Add node on the center.  

 

  Change the node to Symmetric. Edit the nodes. Pull both ends down. Pull the center node arrow to the right. See the screen shot. Convert to raster layer.
Trim the ends by making a rectangular selection. DESELECT    
 

  Effects/ 3D Effects/ Inner bevel. Settings on the left.
Copy and paste the image as a new layer.

 

  Highlight the raster 2 on the layer palette. Click the Mesh Wrap tool. Settings: Horizontal 3/ Vertical 6. Move the nodes as shown on the screen shot. This should give a rounded bottom.
 
Preset Shape/ Ellipse. Foreground and fill wicker pattern. Draw a small ellipse on the bag cover. Convert to raster layer.

Click on Effects/ 3D Effects/ Inner Bevel. Use the same settings. Apply drop Shadow. Vertical 1/ Horizontal 1/ Opacity 58/ Blur 9. OK

 

 

 
Click on Lighten/ Darken Brush. Settings: Size 25/ Hardness 50/ step 10/ Density 100/ Thickness 100/ Rotation 0/ Opacity 50. Lighten darken the left part of the image.
 
Hide the cover. Click on the raster 2. Apply Brightness and Contrast. Use the same settings.

Click on the bag cover. Selection tool/ Free hand. Trim the ends. Click on the bag and trim. Trim the other end.

   
Click on raster 2. Add a new raster layer. Airbrush/ size 30/ color #543e24. Airbrush the image as shown on the screen shot.

 
Smudge Brush/ Size 36/ hardness 50/ step 10/ density 50/ thickness 100/ opacity 60. Smudge the image to blend.

 
Pen tool/ Free hand/ size 15. Foreground wicker pattern/ no fill. Freehand draw the bag strap. Edit the nodes and convert to raster layer. Apply inner bevel. Use the same settings. Apply Cutout. Settings Vertical 1/ Horizontal 2/ Opacity 58/ Blur 3/ Shadow Color #5d2c05. OK

 
 Preset Shape/ Ellipse/ size 14/ Foreground wicker basket. Draw an ellipse below the bag. Convert to raster layer. Apply Inner Bevel. Apply Cutout. Merge all the layers visible and save it.
