Vector Girl Tutorial Page 2 |
|
| Now
let's work on the nose. Change the foreground and fill to
#d39073. Pen tool/ Freehand. Freehand draw the shadow. Edit
the nodes if necessary. Change the foreground color to
#c6876b and no fill. Pen tool/ Freehand/ size 2. Freehand
draw to outline the nose.
  |
|
| Change
the pen size 1 and draw another line.
 |
|
| Let's
work on the mouth. Change the foreground color to #86524a
and fill color to #b97369. Preset shape/ Ellipse. Draw an
ellipse.
 |
|
| Edit
the nodes to reshape the ellipse. Hide the fill property.
Draw a line on the center of the mouth to part the lips.
 |
|
|
Go the layer where the line grids are.
Right click on the layer and click clear. This should remove
the grids. |
|
| Now
that the face is done. Let's put some hair on the head.
Change foreground and fill color to black (#000000). Pen
tool/ Point to point. Draw a point to point image around the
head. Right now it looks messy. But it will be ok after we
edit the nodes around it. Let's edit the nodes. I changed
some of the nodes to symmetric for a smooth curves. See
figure 2. It's what it looks like after editing the
nodes.
  |
|
| Put
some highlights on the hair. Change the foreground and
fill color to #3f3f3f. Draw ellipses on the hair.
Edit the nodes.
 |
|
| Put
highlights on the lips. Change the foreground and fill color
to #c0827a. Draw small ellipses on the lips. Then reshape
them.
 |
|
| Now
let's work on the body. Make the body selected and flood
fill with #d5987c. Draw a shadow on the left side of the
neck and chest.

|
|
| Make
the right arm selected and flood fill with #d5987c. Change
the foreground and fill color to #ba8674. Put shadings on
the arm. Reduce the opacity 26. Make the left arm selected
and flood fill with #d5987c. Change the foreground and fill
color to #ba8674. Put shadings on the arm. The shadings I
put were reshaped ellipses and triangle.Reduce the opacity
to 26.

|
|
| Change
the foreground and fill color to pattern of your choice.
This is going to be her blouse. Pen tool/ Point to point.
Draw a point around the body. Edit the nodes. Draw point
to point on the lower part of the blouse. Edit the nodes
.
Draw point to point on the middle part of
the blouse. Edit the nodes.

Right click and make all the vector layers
selected, then right click again and select group.
This will put all the layers into group.
|
| At this
point, I will let you finish the rest. The above tutorial
should help you a little about vector layers. You noticed
that I have not converted any of the layers to raster layer,
because once you converted them to raster layer, you
wouldn't be able to make changes on them. |
|
| If you
like to continue to the rest of tutorial, it will not be all
vector layers. Only part of it are vectors and the other
parts are raster layers. You may convert each layer to
raster layer and add effects to each layer to finish the
image. |
|
| Add a new raster
layer.Pen Tool/ Point to Point. Change the foreground and
fill pattern or color of your choice. I used a denim pattern
from my denim texture tutorial. Make a point to point
drawing for the legs. |
|
 |
|
| You may
convert this layer to raster layer. Add vector layers for
the shadows. Then go to the layer palette and reduce the
opacity to 50. I applied Greg's Factory Output Volume II,
pool shadow to put highlights on the jeans. Then applied
noise. I added the 2 pockets on the side and stitches on the
legs .

|
|
| Pen
tool/ Freehand/ foreground and fill color #d5987c/ size 1/
line style-solid Freehand draw the feet Edit the nodes and
convert to raster layer. Go to the layer palette and move
the layer down. Change the foreground and fill to black.
Pen tool/ freehand. Freehand draw the sandals. Go to the
layer pallette and move the layer down. Convert to raster
layer.
  |
|
| Pen
tool/ Point to Point/ color black. Click on the feet layer.
Point to point draw the sandal's straps. Convert to raster
layer.

|
|
| Pen
tool/ free hand/ color #6c4e44. Free hand draw lines to
separate the toes.
 |
|
|
You are done. Take a good look at your
creation. You can still make changes or additions on the
vector layers before you convert them to raster layers. Add
accessories to her hands if you desire. Merge all the layers
visible. Save your image. End of Tutorial |
