Note: You can adjust the size of your navigation
bar depending on the width of your webpage.
Open a canvas size 500x300, transparent
Click on selection tool and choose rounded rectangle. Place a
rounded rectangle selection on the center of the canvas size 488x50.
Change the background and stroke properties to gradient. Locate the
silver1 gradient from the list and press OK. Flood fill the
selection with the silver 1 gradient. Deselect.

Click on the layer properties and name the layer as "base bar".
Click on select tool/ rounded rectangle. Place a rounded rectangle
on the center of the image. Flood fill with gradient/silver2.
Deselect

Click on layer properties and name it "base bar 2".
Click anywhere inside the selection and it will make the base bar 2"
selected. Keep selected. Click on Effects/ Cutout. Settings
below.

Click on Pen tool. Make sure that it is set to "Draw point to point-bezier
curves". Change the background and stroke properties to color #ffffff.
Set the line width to 2.
Draw a straight line on the upper part of the image. Convert the
line to raster layer. Name the raster layer as "line".

Click on Adjust/ blur/ Gaussian blur. Set the radius to 2. Click OK.
Deselect.
Click on the layer palette and merge the line down to base bar 2.
Click on Adjust/ brightness and contrast/ brightness=25/ contrast=0.
Add a drop shadow. Settings: vertical=1/ horizontal=1/ opacity=100/
blur=1.
Your image should look similar to the image below. Finished image
ready for your text links.


If you want a gold navigation bar, just colorized the silver to
gold. Or create another navigation bar but change the gradients to
gold gradients.
